Ice Cube Says He Respects Rappers More When They Write Their Own Lyrics

Not throwing shade at anyone in particular if you know what i mean, in a recent interview with MTV, Ice Cube was asked if he wrote his own rhymes and he said "I'm not a fan of it. I respect rappers more when they write their own lyrics. As far as making a song, anybody can put a song together. It don’t matter how it come together. All that matters is what’s coming out the speaker. So, as far as making music and making records, it don’t matter who write it. As far as emceeing and being a rapper, you should write your own stuff." I think we can all agree with the hip hop legend.
